TV Shows
They were elusive. And mysterious. And I had heard about them for what seems like ever.
They spawned a sequel on the “N” network, but I wanted the real thing. I want to see originals first, then sequels.
So, when Degrassi Junior High, the original Degrassi Junior High, appeared on Netflix, I moved it up on to the top of my list.
They arrived in our mailbox yesterday. We had planned to watch CSI but I couldn’t wait. We watched Degrassi instead.
It took me a couple of episodes, but they grew on me. I didn’t identify with them quite the way I identified with the Freaks and Geeks kids, but I could see myself. The frizzy hair, the oversized glasses, the plastic clips. I could see myself at thirteen, wanting to fit in, trying desperately to do so.
I think I’m going to like this show.
